The Busy Bees Minis team were all abuzz after their 9-3 victory over the Maroon Miners in the Cobar Junior Soccer Club competition on Saturday morning at Ward Oval.
A very busy worker bee, Kaiden Hamilton, finished with a four-goal haul from the match, which included a standout moment that came with a remarkable kick from near halfway.
Kaiden sent an air ball soaring over the pack and straight into the back of the net to score.
Queen Bee Claire Thompson also booted in a big tally of four goals for Busy Bees while their other point came from an own goal.
Maroon Miners’ three points came from the boot of Hunter Hounsell.
In another of the Minis matches, Raging Rhinos beat Pitch Pirates 7-nil.
Lewis Shepherd (3), Arthur Neale (2) and Baxter Woods (2) scored for Raging Rhinos.
In their Minis’ match, Cornish Dragons had a lucky 4-2 win over Sky Strikers.
Spencer Fugar (2) and Elizabeth Brown (1) found the back of the net for Cornish Dragons and an own goal helped them to the win.
Levi Tiffen booted in both goals for his Sky Strikers team.
The Mini Gumnut Milkshake awards went to Hunter Hounsell, Mason Brown and Peter McMillan.
The Cobar Hotbake Donut Awards were won by Halle Egan, Bentley Tiffen and Charlotte Cronin while Zariah Sariman, Thomas Mitchell and Lewis Shepherd took home the Shell Slushie prizes.
In the Mids division, the match between Polar Bears and Redbacks ended in a 4-all draw while Black Knights beat Tigers 4-1 in their game.
Hudson Neale netted all four of Polar Bears’ goals while Riley Williams (3) and Pypa Lesslie scored for their Redbacks team.
Max Preisig (2), Jack Preisig and Tyrin Orcher kicked goals for Black Knights and Davey McKay slipped one past the goalie for Tigers.
The Mids Gumnuts Milkshake Award winners were Levi Mackay and Cadence Colling.
The Cobar Hotbake Donut prizes went to Maggie Hupp and Jack Preisig while Riley Williams and Cooper Colling received the Shell Slushie Awards.
In the Seniors competition, Celtic FC beat Miami FC 6-3 with goal scorers Xavier Foster (2), Isla McKervey, Edwin Palma, Ralph Behsman and Cooper Suridge helping their Celtic team to a win. Ryan Jiang, Charles Mamhunze and Ashton Campbell booted in one goal each for Miami FC.
Bailey Neale earned the Gumnuts Milkshake Award, Hayden Griffiths collected the Cobar Hotbake Donut prize and the Shell Slushie award was earned by Hayden Betcke.
In the Opens competition, Mill Rats beat Rock Apes 2-0 in a low scoring match with Charles Mamhunze responsible for both goals for his Mill Rats team.
Jayden Cryer earned the Gumnuts Milkshake award, Luna Welte collected the Cobar Hotbake Donut Award and Davey McKay received the Shell Slushie prize.
