Roosters rule rivals

The First Grade Roosters made short work of the visiting Narromine Jets in their Boronia Challenge Cup rugby league game at Tom Knight Memorial Oval on Saturday with the undefeated Roosters running in 12 tries as they completely dismantled the Jets to the tune of 60 points to nil.

Jack Brown 3, Sione Fakahua 2, Ashley Davies, Reynold Mugugia, Jackson Vallis, David Watson, Thomas Plater, Loma Atuau and Oisin McMullen scored Cobar’s tries with Tadhg McMullen landing six goals.

The Cobar Roosterettes topped off a great reunion/Ladies Day with a 26-18 win over their Narromine rivals.

After meeting up on Friday night with the 2016 Roosterettes premiership winning side for a couple of warm-up fun games, the Cobar 2026 team was psyched up for their Round 9 Castlereagh game on Saturday against third placed Narromine.

Rhylee Patterson, Brianna Watson, Taylah Good, Sarah Morley and Madasan Taylor scored tries for Cobar with Watson kicking three goals. While the win hasn’t improved the Roosterettes’ 4th place on the competition ladder, they are now however on equal points with Narromine, with Narromine still holding down third spot with a better ‘for and against’ record.

In their Youth League match, Narromine fought back to finish with an 18-10 win over Cobar. Will Oborn and Brennan Auckett crossed for tries for Cobar with Auckett landing a goal also.

The Cobar Reggies Reserve Grade team bowed out of the competition when they lost their sudden death semi final match to Coonabarabran on Sunday in Gilgandra, 38-8
