
Brad Burns, with a score of 10 under Par, claimed the $50,000 prize purse at the Australian PGA Senior Sand Greens Championships in Cobar over the weekend.
Burns finished with a score of 68 in Round 1 on Saturday and 64 in Sunday’s Round 2 to finish with a total score of 132 and was two shots ahead of Ben Jackson and five shots clear of third placed Peter Lonard.
It was a back-to-back win for Burns who claimed the title after a three-way play off last year in Cobar.
Among the men’s Amateur Pro Am winners was Colin Kershaw who won the 36 hole competition with 79 stableford points.
Mathew Hunter, with 78 stableford points, was the runner-up.
Saturday’s 18 hole winner was Nicholas Buckman with 42 stableford points, and Luke Scales was the runner-up on 40 stable points.
Sunday’s 18 hole winner was Bruce Bennett on a countback from Scott Ackerley, after both players finished on 40 stableford points.
In the teams 18 hole events, Paul Kershaw and Colin Kershaw with Pros David Crawford and Kurt Stegbauer were the Saturday winners with 50 points while Scott Ackerley and Sean Bayliss with Pros Wade Brunjes and Mark Brooker won on Sunday with 53 points.
In local golf this week, an individual Stableford will be played today.
Saturday is the 3rd Round of the Captain’s Trophy, Sunday’s game is a Four-Ball-Best-Ball Stableford.—4 Aces
