The women’s golf Club Foursomes Championships were played over 27 holes on Sunday and someone up above sent beautiful sunny skies and no wind much to the delight of all players.
Fay Hardwick and Chrissy Gilligan were the Foursomes Scratch winners with a combined score of 127.
The Scratch runners-up were Narelle Kriz and Janine Ryan posting 134.
Pat Polack and Jannine Wilkin were the 27 hole Foursomes Net winners on a countback from Lize Stander and Sue Phillips after both teams carded 105½ net each.
The 18 hole ball competition played in conjunction with the championships was taken out by Tina Gordon and Joy Josephson on 69½ net.
They were followed by Lize Stander and Sue Phillips (72 net), Fay Hardwick and Chrissy Gilligan (73 net) along with Pat Polack and Jannine Wilkin also having 73 net.
Nearest the Pin prizes went to Barb Barklimore and Brenda Fugar on the 3rd hole, Angela Fryer and Geraldine Francisco on the 7th and 15th holes, Sue Phillips and Lize Stander on the 8th and Narelle Kriz and Janine Ryan on the 11th hole.
Only five brave souls contested the cold windy conditions for last Wednesday’s Stroke game.
Geraldine Francisco was the winner posting a score of 69 net while Ann Dunn was the runner-up having 71 net as well as picking up the putting prize with 26 putts for the day.
The numbers were much better for Saturday’s par game although the weather hadn’t improved.
Ann Dunn survived a countback from Joy Josephson after both ladies came in with scores of +2.
Angela Fryer was 3rd with +1 and Fay Hardwick finished the day with -2.
Barb Barklimore and Jannine Wilkin were closest to the flag on the 3rd and 15th holes.
Today is a Stableford round and a Stroke plus Scratch event is set down for Saturday.
This will also be a trophy day.
On Sunday the Marie McManus Memorial Day Stableford will take place and ladies are asked to take a plate to share after the game.—T’d Off
