As part of this year’s Glenhope Shindig on the weekend, descendants of the Weltie family (pictured above) joined Glenhope’s current owners, the Johnson family, to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the settling of the property by Peter and Anne
Weltie in 1874. This year’s Shindig, which is a popular stop off for caravaners on their way to the Mundi Mundi Bash in Broken Hill, once again attracted a good crowd who were entertained by musicians Royden Donohue, Michelle Little, Baeden Faint and Chloe Swannell, along with poet Murray Hartin and author Jamelle Wells. Guests also watched shearing, wool spinning and fire twirling demonstrations and enjoyed camp oven dinners. ▪ Photo contributed
