Howell and Brown team up to win

The Men’s Golf Bill Bartlett Memorial Four-Ball-Best-Ball Stableford competition attracted a field of 21 players on Saturday.

The winners were Mick Howell and Piers Brown with 45 stableford points.

In second place on 42 stableford points were John Carlaw and Peter ‘Ding’ Lawrence (who played inspiring golf after his NRL Eels team had a win on Friday night).

Greg Clark and Steve Manns combined well to score 40 points and pick up third place after a count back from Jason Foster and Steve Manns (after Manns’ card was drawn out of the hat to play in two teams).

In the individual Stableford competition, Howell was too good for the rest of the field finishing with 41 stableford points.

Second place was taken out by Carlaw on 38 stableford points and Bill Fugar pipped Alec Fraser on a count back for third spot after both players finished on 36 stableford points.

Nearest to the Pin winners were Greg Clark on the 8th hole and Mick Bannister on the 15th…Full report in this week’s edition out now!
