The Meat and Livestock Australia BredWell FedWell workshop last Thursday at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club was sponsored by Nutrien Russell. The event was hosted by Andrew and Megan Mosely from Etiwanda White Dorpers, who also supplied rams with Australian Sheep Breeding Values (ASBVs) to be used in practical activities. Tim Gole from For Flocks Sake Sheep Production Services ran the course with 26 people from varied backgrounds and operations taking part. Participants learnt about how to breed and feed sheep to maximise profitability in their enterprises. The one-day course also gave attendees the skills to use ASBVs when selecting rams, how to go about collecting and utilising animal data and how to optimise animal nutrition to get the best results possible in terms of production and fertility.
