Brussel Sprouts are into the junior touch grand final

The Brussel Sprouts team (pictured above) is through to the 13-16 years Junior Touch grand final tomorrow after they beat the Mighty Minions in last week’s elimination semi final. The Sprouts will meet the Pink Panthers.

Brussel Sprouts and Pink Panthers will go head to head in the Junior Touch 13-16 years grand final game tomorrow.

It should be a close match with the Sprouts going into the game as slight favourites after having narrowly beaten Pink Panthers in the past two encounters. (Both teams however have players away on a school excursion.)

Brussel Sprouts won their grand final spot after they easily accounted for the Mighty Minions 11-3 in last week’s elimination semi final.

Maddie Bruce once again led the scoring for the Sprouts finishing with a tally of three tries for the match. Alora Deppler, Ethan McLeod, Lachlan Brookman and Oscar Ryan were responsible for the Sprouts’ other tries.

In reply, Jaxon Burke crossed twice for the Mighty Minions and Ashton Dietrich also scored a try.

Pink Panthers earned their grand final spot after they accounted for Blue Bugs 11-5 in their match last week.

Aiden Hyland (3), Sosie Barton (2), Oisin McMullen (2), Harry Cousins and Tim Eves all scored tries for Pink Panthers.

Blue Bugs’ points came from George McDonald (2), Rowdy Barton (2) and Clay McDonald.

In tomorrow’s 9-12 years grand final Keeping it Orange will take on Keeping it Yellow with Keeping it Orange tipped to take the title after dominating the competition all season.

Last week they eliminated Blue Powerade from the competition when they beat them
10-4.

George McDonald led the scoring with a big haul of six tries with Isabelle Gillette adding their extra four points with her two tries (female tries are worth double points).

Thomas Knight crossed twice for Blue Powerades and Kasalia Fakahua also scored a try for Blue Powerades.

Keeping it Lemon earned their grand final place with a convincing 5-0 win over Redbacks.

Holly Watt, Harpa Martin and Thomas Preisig touched down for a try each for Keeping it Lemon
