The Commonwealth Bank Cobar branch employees have donated $500 to Rural Outback Animal Rescue/Respite (ROAR) as part of the bank’s nationwide communi-ty donation program.
As part of the program, the bank has pledged to donate $400,000 nationally, to recognise those organisations that make a difference to the communities in which they operate.
Each Commonwealth Bank branch and customer-facing team has been allocated $500 to donate to causes important to their local community.
Commonwealth Bank Cobar Branch Man-ager, Jake Tumai-Lynch, said they were pleased to be able to give their support to ROAR.
“After another challenging start to the year for many communities, this is one small way we can get behind local organisations who continue to do good work within our commu-nity,” Mr Tumai-Lynch said.
He said his branch team were unanimous in voting to support the volunteer-run ROAR group which was set up to address the high number of dogs (and cats) that find them-selves in the pound or who are in need of a loving home.
“In particular, their continued efforts to heal and support animals surrendered or found is something we found to make an easy deci-sion,” he said.
“The team at ROAR are hoping to use the funds to assist with medical bills for a recent-ly turned in pup with a fractured leg, so it’s great to be able to support them in this cause.”
Mr Tumai-Lynch said the bank is commit-ted to driving positive change within the communities in which it serves to make a difference locally and for all Australians.
