Three Cobar archers recently tested their skills at the World Field Archery Championships 2016 hosted by Wagga Wagga Field Archers.
The event was to have been a five day field format but unfortunately due to rainy weather and safety concerns on the ranges Day 4 and Day 5 of the event were cancelled.
Dick Tulloh finished second in the Veterans Men’s Barebow Recurve class and daughter Bobbie Tulloh also collected silver in the Ladies Barebow Recurve Class C.
Pete Rogers won bronze in the Adult Men’s Historical Bow division.
The opening ceremony was awash with colour as flags flew from competing countries.
Those countries who made the long journey were Ireland, USA, Germany, South Africa, Austria, Wales, England, Scotland and New Zealand.
Combined with Australia, there was a field totalling 630 archers.
The next World Championships will be hosted by South Africa in 2018.—contributed
