Cobar Shire Council general manager Peter Vlatko congratulated the newly elected executive of the Cobar Youth Council, Joey Neale (communications officer), Todd Polack (secretary), Amara Bottom (president), Maddie Chaplain (treasurer) and Ashley Cousins (vice president) following their meeting last Thursday. Councils in NSW promote, provide and plan for the needs of children and young people through both direct services and infrastructure. Youth councils allow young people to become leaders in their community and gives them an opportunity to be involved in Council’s policy and decision making process in areas of the community that directly affect them.
