You couldn’t get a closer game than the Seniors Touch match last Thursday at Ward Oval between the Blue Heelers and the Mighty Red Roosters.
The two sides couldn’t be split and the match finished in a 6-all draw.
The game was a thriller to watch with Mad-die Bruce an absolute standout scoring two tries (to give her side four points) and earn the match’s Best & Fairest points.Blue Heeler Tommy Rogers showed plenty of pace and skill to score three tries and he was well supported by team mates Ryan Urquhart and Tadgh McMullen. Jayden Paul and Ava Fullagar had quality games for the Mighty Red Roosters and played some smart football to find gaps through the middle of the field.
In the other Seniors game, Green Machine just got the better of Stingers to win the match 9-8. In this high scoring game Green Ma-chine’s Kai Greenwood set down three tries and was rewarded also with the game’s Best & Fairest points.
Jaxon Burke continues to play outstanding elusive touch footy each week in the Senior competition and last week he scored two tries.
For the Stingers Bridgette Negfeldt and Bran-don McGuire proved difficult to contain in attack along with Zane Taylor, who scored two breakaway tries.
The GOATS were in sensational good form last week in the Juniors competition to soundly beat Blueys 6-1.
George McDonald scored three great tries and team mate Parker Cryer was everywhere on the field to have an all-round great game.
Sosie Barton and Harpa Martin displayed excellent defensive skills and were also both involved in some quality attack playing along-side Cohan Nicholson.
In the other Juniors match Electric Eels held off Carrot Crew to narrowly win 4-3.
Nate Martin added three more diving tries to his rapidly growing try scoring tally this sea-son. He was well supported by team mates Piper Allen and Eli Martin.
Phoebe Travis shared in the match’s Best & Fairest points for a great defensive game for Carrot Crew.
