Cobar Shire will benefit from the recent State Budget funding announcements for new or continuing projects.
Among the projects is $1.1M funding for the establishment of a mobile CT service for Cobar, Walgett and Bourke. State Member for Barwon Roy Butler said this year’s budget also allows for the recently announced grant allocation to Cobar Council for construction of a shared path along Bathurst Street and improvements to local water.
“It’s great to see Cobar Shire delivered a healthy share of the NSW Budget for vital town upgrades,” Mr Butler said.
“The Government has also announced large amounts of funding for mental health support and schools’ upgrades, the details of these programs are yet to be released but I am hopeful that more funding will be injected into the Cobar Shire,” he said.
Other budget funded projects include the Cobar to Nyngan Twin Pipelines; Cobar Sewerage treatment plant upgrade; Nyngan/Cobar Water security; the Ward Oval upgrade; Cobar Youth & Fitness Centre Upgrade Stage Two; and the Euabalong Scenic Walking Trail.
