Cobar Shire Council will receive $14,650 to develop a local youth program aimed at helping young people reach their full potential through activities that benefit their community.
Member for Barwon Kevin Humphries recently announced $87,650 funding to be shared by Cobar (Upskilling our Youth to Get Involved project), $23,000 for Coonamble Shire Council (Go Gular project) while $50,000 went to Maari Ma Health for the Murdi Paaki Region Aboriginal Young Leaders project.
Mr Humphries said the three organisations in Barwon plan to run projects which encourage youth participation and inclusion in the community.
“This is welcome news for the youth of Barwon. This project will help our future leaders engage further in our local community,” Mr Humphries said.
“It’s everyone’s responsibility to ensure that young people have the best opportunities in life.
“By supporting activities that encourage participation and development, we can achieve outcomes that benefit the whole community,” Mr Humphries said.
