What an U.G.L.Y. bunch!

Staff and patrons dressed up in traditional German Oktoberfest costumes to help raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation on Saturday night at the Services Club. The event is one of a number of U.G.L.Y. fundraisers the club is doing this month.

Clubs and pubs across Cobar have their bartenders labelling themselves as U.G.L.Y. for six weeks across October and November in support of the Leukaemia Foundation.

Among the locals taking part are the bar staff from the Services Club and the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club who are each holding a number of U.G.L.Y. fundraising events over the next month.

Now in its 8th year, the U.G.L.Y Bartender fundraiser (Understanding Generous Likeable You), is now recognised across the hospitality industry as an important event to assist the Leukaemia Foundation.

All money raised goes to people in regional and rural areas affected by blood cancer to cover the costs of their accommodation while receiving treatment.

Every $80 raised by bartenders will cover the cost of one night’s accommodation.

The event runs until mid November.
