Team organised at last minute wins Polyfabrications Day

The annual Polyfabrications Day Three Person Ambrose event attracted 21 women golfers on Saturday. 

The last minute organisation to get a team together proved fruitful for Julie Livingston, Ev Hyde and Sue-Ellen Dunne when they joined up to take the win with a score of 66 1/6 net.

The runners-up were Pam Sikora, Sally Bannister and Jenny Stephenson on 68 2/3 net followed by Pat Polack, Barb Barklimore and Fay Hardwick (69 net), Karen Walsh, Narelle Kriz and Jannine Wilkin (69 5/6 net) and Glenda Peebles, Di Greer and Fran Samios with 70 net.

Nearest the Pin prizes were awarded to Narelle Kriz, Julie Livingston, Fay Hardwick, Sue Phillips and Serena Fraser.

Only one stroke separated 1st to 5th in the ladies Stroke event on Sunday.

Jenny Stephenson (with a 3 handicap) was only two over par to take the win with 71 net with runner-up Fran Samios posting 72 net.

Narelle Kriz came in 3rd with 73 net, Julie Livingston 74 net and Marlene Wynd 75 net.

Kriz was the best on the greens having only 21 putts.

The holiday Monday Stableford game was a close call with a countback needed to separate the winner, Sue-Ellen Dunne, from second place Sally Bannister, after both scored 35 points. Geraldine Francisco claimed third spot from Fay Hardwick after they each scored 34 points.

Tina Gordon was next with 32.

Jenny Stephenson and Geraldine Francisco were closest to the flags on the 7th and 15th holes.

Glenis Prisk showed the way in last Wednesday’s Stableford round scoring 42 points to win the day.

Fran Samios and Jenny Stephenson were separated by a countback after both scored 36 points.

Fay Hardwick was next with 34 and Alma Rogers had 33.

Nearest the Pin prizes were collected by Pam Sikora on the 8th hole and Sally Bannister on the 11th.

Stroke games are scheduled for today and Saturday while a Stableford is set down for Sunday.

The Western Districts Ladies Golf Association Sand Green teams event will take place at Peak Hill on Sunday with eight Cobar ladies taking part.—T’d Off
