Polyfabrications golf day attracts a field of 18

The wet conditions on the golf course were evident in the lady golfer’s scores over the weekend and avoiding the mud and puddles of water were additional hazards players had to face.
The Polyfabrications sponsored three lady Ambrose was played on Saturday with 18 golfers taking part.
The smallest of fractions separated the win-ners Serena Fraser, Sue Phillips and Sally Bannister from the rest of the field.
They finished with a score of 73 2/3 net from runners-up Karen Walsh, Narelle Kriz and Jannine Wilkin on 74 net.
Donna Prendergast made a much welcome return to golf and joined team mates Karen Manns and Geraldine Francisco to place third.
Nearest the Pin winners were Sally Bannis-ter on the 3rd and 7th holes, Robynne Morton on the 8th, Narelle Kriz the 11th and Serena Fraser was closest on the 15th.
The fog was slow to clear for Sunday’s Foursomes Club Championships which seemed to affect most players throughout the 27 holes.
The tough going was reflected in the score cards with most needing to get the calculators out!
The 2021 champions are Narelle Kriz and Fay Hardwick after they finished the day with a score of 142 off the stick.
The runners-up were Geraldine Francisco and Sally Bannister on 150.
The net champions for the year are Sue Phil-lips and Ann Dunn who posted 117 1/2 with Angela Fryer and Daphne Cross the runners-up on 121 net.
It was another washed out Wednesday last week which left lady golfers wondering what to do with themselves again.
Today the sun should greet players for a Par game with a Four-Ball-Best-Ball Stableford (select own partner) set down for Saturday and a Stableford will be played on Sunday.
Five of Cobar’s lady golfers will be taking on the Dubbo pennants side in Dubbo tomor-row if the predicted rain and COVID re-strictions don’t cause the game to be post-poned again.—T’d Off
