Phase 1 construction begins

Construction work on the new accessibility ramp at the Great Cobar Heritage Centre got underway on Monday morning. Contractors started work this week clearing
the area and digging a trench to lay underground power. The new ramp is the first phase of a large body of work to be carried out as part of the museum’s transformation and has been jointly funded through the NSW Government’s Heritage Activation
Grant and Cobar Shire Council. The access ramp will allow all users access to the Visitors Information Centre and the museum which previously could only be accessed via stairs.
