Peak provides some cool cash

An $8,000 donation from Peak Gold Mines has helped the Brennan Centre committee with a $25,000 project to install reverse-cycle air conditioners to 12 units at the aged care centre. Pictured are committee members Chris and Colleen Boucher and Stephen Dutton with Graduate Environmental Officer, Laura Barnes from Peak Gold Mines at the centre on Monday morning. Mr Dutton said a number of older units at the centre previously only had evaporative air conditioners for cooling in summer and bar heaters for heating in winter. He said the new reverse-cycle systems will be more effective in both summer and winter. The Brennan Centre Committee also has another improvement project on the go with a covered barbecue area to be constructed so that residents can come together for communal events.
