Local sheep stud mixes it with the western region’s best

Cobar’s Tambua Poll Merino Stud has been mixing it with the best of the wool industry in the western region.

The Evans family local stud received some excellent results at the Cobar, Nyngan and Warren shows as well as the NSW State Sheep Show at Dubbo.

“Warren Show is our 2018 proudest achievement as Warren Shire is one of NSW’s premier wool growing areas and has some of NSW’s biggest merino studs,” Michael Evans said.

At the Cobar Show Tambua picked up seven prizes including the Grand Champion Fleece of Show where their fleece scored 96 points out of a possible 100.

Tambua won six categories at the Nyngan Show including taking out the Grand Champion Ewe of Show prize.

In addition to their Grand Champion Fleece of Show prize at the Warren Show, the Evans’ also won four other wool and sheep categories.

At the Dubbo NSW State Sheep Show Tambua had the Champion Superfine Wool Ewe; Champion Superfine Wool Ram; Champion Poll Ewe and the Reserve Campion March Shorn Ram and March Shorn Ewe along with the Reserve Grand Champion Ewe of Show.
