Junior league’s first hit out this season

Five Cobar teams had their first hit outs of the 2019 Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League competition on Saturday up against the league’s strongest club, St John’s Gold.  

The matches were all played in Dubbo and, while the home side claimed five victories for the day, the Cobar teams all put on good showings in their first games.

The Cobar Under 10s were beaten 54-0 with the Cobar Coach’s awards earned by Rowdy Barton and Jacob Chandler.

The Roosters Under 11s went down 34-0 with Jhett Walsh and Hayden Seng named the Coach’s best on field.

In the Under 12s game, Zach Snudden and Reece Josephson were stand-outs for the Cobar team that was beaten 28-6.

The Cobar Under 14s were beaten 48-0 with Kia Taylor and Brian Chapula earning the Coach’s awards.

In the 15/16s game the margin was 34-8 in St John’s Gold’s favour.

Their Coach’s awards went to Riley Porter and Chris Milgate (from Bourke who has signed with the Cobar side this season).

In the Under 6s (Minis) and Under 8s (Mods) games played at Tom Knight Memorial Oval on Sunday morning, Cooper Trudgett and Colt Peebles earned the Mini’s Coach’s award while Audrey Josephson and Thomas Knight shared the Coach’s awards in the Mods competition.
