JKM come out best in double header

JKM Phat Athletes, with two wins, a total of 28 points and the best ‘for and against’ ratio for the night, came out the best of the six teams in the League Tag competition’s double header last Thursday night.

Rounds 6 and 7 of the competition were played as a double header last week at Tom Knight Memorial Oval.

In the opening game, JKM Phat Athletes trounced Idunno 15-5 and they also had an easy 13-3 win in their second match later in the night when they met a struggling Camels team.

JKM’s female players were the dominant try scorers with Tanya Gilbert and Nikki Davey scoring four times each, Bianka Jacobson ran in three tries and Zoë Egan touched down for a try in each match.

Josh Brown scored for JKM Phat Athletes in their game with Idunno and Adam Doherty crossed for a try in their second game.

JKM had the best ‘for and against’ ratio scoring 28 points and they only conceded eight points in their two games.

While Barracudas also won their two games convincingly last week, they didn’t match JKM Phat Athletes when you compare ‘for and against’ points.

Barracudas had a 12-2 win first up over Junior League and later they were pushed hard for their 13-8 win over Racks and Sacks.

Jenna Fullagar was hard to catch for the Barracudas all night running in four tries in their first win and another try in their second game.

Tim Hillam crossed five times in Barracudas’ two victories with Kasey Egan (2), Tyler Chiswick (1), Brianna Watson (1), Sam Best (1) and Tom McKenna (1) their other point scorers for the night.

In the other two games played, Junior League won 12-4 over Idunno and Racks and Sacks won on a forfeit from Camels.

Rounds 8 and 9 of the competition will also be played as a double header tomorrow night.
