he Cobar Rural Fire Service (RFS) members have banded together to help out one of their own holding a raffle and sausage sizzle fundraiser in the main street on Saturday morning. Cobar Headquarters captain Peter Cartner (pictured above with his family Stephanie, Michela and Mara) said they were fundraising to help out former volunteer and RFS Cobar office employee, Ros Turton, who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. Mr Cartner said Mrs Turton, who has a young family, is optimistic after
surgeons removed a large cancer from her brain on Friday. He said Ros regularly volunteered to help others and now the brigade members were keen to help her.
