It was a big day for the Cobar Junior Rugby League Club on Saturday with their Under 15s and Under 13s girls tackle teams making their debuts in Dubbo, and the Under 6s and Under 8s joined the 10s and 12s sides for away games in Warren.
The Roosters Under 13s and Under 15s girls tackle teams made club history as Cobar’s first girls tackle sides in the Dubbo & District Junior Rugby League competition.
The Cobar Under 15s side has been training hard for a couple of months.
While scores were not recorded, Best & Fairest points were given out with Holly Watt collecting Cobar’s three points, Audrey Josephson earned two points and Norma Mugugia picked up one point.
The Cobar Under 13s team scored five tries in their match with St John’s with Isabelle Gillette crossing twice along with Lauren O’Sullivan, Ashlee Compton and Ruby Reid scoring a try each.

The Under 6s and Under 8s played their only ‘away’ game of the season at Warren on Saturday.
The Under 6s little Roosters put in an awesome effort with great runs, excellent tags, and plenty of ‘Hi-Fives’ handed out among the team’s players.
The Coach’s awards went to Jamie Everingham and Finn Hill.
The Under 8s also put on a good show against the Warren Bulldogs with Mason Hill as their captain.
The Cobar team pulled off lots of great tackles, scored a heap of tries, made plenty of fends and runs, and demonstrated amazing sportsmanship and team work.
It was a great effort considering each kid in the team is only seven this year, and it’s their first year of tackle footy.
They were nervous before the start of the match but put in an awesome effort for just their 4th game!
The Roosters Under 10s match was a try-fest and a great game to watch with their coach saying it was the Cobar team’s best game this season.
The Coach’s award went to Lucas Davey and Rosie George collected the Sportsmanship award.
The Cobar Under 12s also put in a big effort in their game against the Warren Bulldogs.
Alfie Toomey earned the Players’ Player honour and Eligh Ritter collected the Coach’s award.
