In tricky conditions two rinks of triples were played for social bowls at the Golfie on Sunday.
Bragging rights for the weekend definitely went to John Daly, whose team convincingly smashed his wife Karen’s team by +11.
‘Kaz’, who’s been in red hot form, played on Sunday with Doug Hudson (who was short all day in proportion to his height) and Barry Bargwanna (the only player to actually reach the ditch). The trio were totally outclassed by Kaz’s husband’s team which included David Thomas (who played well) and David ‘Ooze’ Knight (player of the day after rubbing the belly of the Buddha on Kaz’s bowls).
In the B Grade game, Bian Smith, Helen Boddy and Paul Kershaw (playing double lead) totally outclassed David Schofield (best bowler on the rink) and Peter ‘China’ Brien (who again left early in a tired and emotional state) by +8.
Next weekend is the Christmas get-together and it would be great to see lots of bowlers celebrating the end of this dread y
