Cross shows women golfers the way

A great roll up of lady golfers were out on the Cobar Golf Course on Saturday when their 2020 season recommenced.

A field of 16 players took to the course for the Stableford round with Daphne Cross showing the way posting 38 points for the win.

Countbacks were needed to separate place getters Barb Barklimore and Geraldine Francisco (who both finished with 35 points each) and Sally Bannister and Jannine Wilkin (on 34 points each).

Ann Dunn placed 6th with 33 points.

Nearest the Pin shots were recorded on the 3rd hole by Chrissy Gilligan (in A Grade), Jannine Wilkin (B Grade), and Karen Walsh for C Grade.

The Mother’s Day Stableford round on Sunday attracted 11 players.

Angela Fryer won the day with 32 points with Chrissy Gilligan the runner-up on 31.

Ann Dunn was next best with 30 points followed by Julie Livingston with a score of 28 points.

Livingston also won the Nearest the Pin competition for A Grade after she was the closest on the 7th hole.

Marlene Wynd was the closest for B Grade.

Players are reminded to check their handicaps before playing as any cards handed in that are deemed to be incorrect or not signed etc will be automatically disqualified.

This week kicks off with a Stroke game today, a Stableford will be played on Saturday and a Par is set down for Sunday
