Continued heat is still affecting golf

It seems the continuing hot weather is having an effect on lady golfers with numbers still low for the past week in the local women’s competition.

Di Greer didn’t let the heat get to her recording a 66 net winning score in last Wednesday’s stroke game as well as being the best with the short stick having only 21 putts over the 18 holes of the game.

Fay Hardwick was the runner-up posting a score of 69 net.

Geraldine Francisco, on 72 net, finished in third spot.

A Par game on Saturday was won by Chrissy Gilligan with +3, well ahead of the rest of the field of only six players.

Wan Sipatsa finished with -3 to take second position while Di Greer had a score of -4 for third place.

Nearest the Pin prizes were awarded to Chrissy Gilligan on the 7th hole and Ann Dunn on the 11th.

The Cobar Ultra Finish three person Ambrose was played in Louth on Saturday with quite a few lady golfers taking part (which would account for low attendance at home).

Susan Goonrey, Geraldine Francisco and Fay Hardwick came in as winners while Karen Manns, Brenda Fugar and Angela Fryer were runners-up in the ladies division.

Fay Hardwick also won the longest drive and Nearest the Pin prizes.

A Stroke event on Sunday went the way of Lize Stander with a score of 68 net followed by Pat Polack (70 net) and Geraldine Francisco on 75 net.

The putting prize was shared between Stander and Francisco when both ladies had 27 putts each.

Today will be a Stableford game with a Par on Saturday. A variation Stableford is set down for Sunday (draw for partner).—T’d Off
