Cobar Police welcome new officer keen to try life in the bush

Cobar Police Sergeant Chris Power recently welcomed new officer Senior Constable
Lucas Hardy to the local station.

A new police officer, Senior Constable Lucas Hardy, has joined the ranks at the Cobar Police Station.

Senior Constable Hardy and his partner Jordan (and their two German Shepherd dogs) recently relocated from Tuggerah Lakes where Senior Constable Hardy has served as a police officer for the past seven years.

Having grown up and lived all his life on the Central Coast, Senior Constable Hardy said he wanted to “do the country thing” and decided to move to the bush.

He said he and Jordan chose to move to Cobar as Jordan had some family members living here which would give them a support network.

The pair have been in town for the past month. Jordan is working at Cobar High School in the administration office.

Both said they are enjoying the laid back lifestyle but they are a bit wary of the heat to come in summer.

Senior Constable Hardy has joined the Cobar Yabbies Senior Men’s Swimming Club and the gym and in his spare time he enjoys hanging out with Jordan and their dogs.

Sergeant Chris Power has welcomed Senior Constable Hardy to the station and said his appointment now brings them up to a full staff complement of seven officers.
