Nymagee finish as minor premiers in 40 Overs comp

With one game still remaining in the 40 Overs Cricket regular season, Nymagee have already wrapped up the minor premiership with a close win over Golf Club on weekend.

By finishing on top, Nymagee go directly into the grand final with Golf Club and Empire left to fight it out to see who will join them.

In the match on Saturday, Golf Club won the toss and elected to bat first.

Nymagee dropped five catches in a frustrating day in the field as Golf Club batted out their 40 overs to finish with 8/120.

Phil Harley was the pick of the Nymagee bowlers taking 2/12 off eight overs (including three wides).

In reply, Nymagee tweaked their batting order which found them under pressure towards the end of game.

Golf Club’s tight bowling was rewarded as they took wickets at regular intervals.

Nymagee was always ahead of the required rate, but the wickets were starting to mount up.

James McClure (28), Matt Dillon (18) and Roger Mitchell (16) got Nymagee off to a solid start while Phil Harley (16 not out) and Jade Buckman (11 not out) got them home with three wickets in hand.
