Celebrating a season of success

The Cobar Roosters Senior Rugby League Club celebrated the end of a very successful season on Saturday night at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club.

The Cobar Under 18s side finished as the winners of the 2024 Castlereagh Youth League competition while the Roosters First Grade finished as runners-up.

Perpetual and individual trophies were presented to the season’s best players in First Grade, League Tag, Under 18s and Reserve Grade.

Roosters First Grade co-captain/coach Thomas Plater earned the Eric Martin Club Best and Fairest award while his co-captain/coach counterpart, Loma Atuau recorded the Most Tries for the season.

Oisin McMullen was named the club’s Most Consistent Forward and Nathan McAndrew collected the Norm Armstrong Most Consistent Back award.

League Tag player, Sosie Barton, earned the Daryle Bannister Memorial Trophy as the Rookie of the Year and team mate Rori Urquhart was named as the season’s Most Improved Footballer.

Reece Josephson, who travelled thousands of kilometres to play this season, collected the Barry Fox Most Dedicated Player award.

Bridgette Negfeldt, Oisin McMullen and Fraser Talu shared the Dianne McLeod trophy for the Player with the Most Potential.

League Tag captain/coach Brianna Watson was the club’s Highest Points Scorer for the 2024 season.

Plater collected the Most Consistent Footballer of the season award.

Tadhg McMullen was presented with the Rob Gilligan Junior Clubman of the Year award and Genie McMullen collected the Tom Knight Memorial Shield as the Club Person of the Year…For more winners see this week’s edition out now!
