Camels season comes to an end

The Cobar Camels contingent of players (and supporters) who joined the Bogan Bulls team to take on Walgett at this year’s Western Plains Rugby Union grand final on Saturday in Walgett. The home side was in sensational form to finish with a 50-0 win. The Rams also scored a Second Grade win finishing as 31-14 winners over Bourke. Following the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, the group held a modified competition for the 2020 season with just four First Grade teams taking part—Walgett, Nyngan (bolstered by a number of Cobar players), Warren and Bourke—in a six round competition. The group will be hoping for a return to “normal” next season to welcome back the Cobar, Gulargambone, Coonamble and Brewarrina teams for the 2021 competition. ▪ Photo contributed
