Cadets celebrate end of year with a formal dinner

The Cobar 221 Army Cadet Unit held their formal dining-in night on Saturday at the Services Club which included the presentation of end of year awards.

The Boot prize for the Most Outstanding Junior Cadet at Annual Camp was awarded to Cadet (CDT) Brodie Kreeck.

The Greenie Award for Leadership and Mateship (always helping a buddy) was earned by CDT Corporal Harry Franks.

Encouragement Awards for cadets showing potential in all areas went to CDT Parker Cryer, CDT Sophie-Anne Chandler, CDT Lieutenant Corporal Tiarna Jones and CDT Ata Haronga.

The Bone Award for the cadet that has a never ending appetite was earned by CDT Corporal Riley Bottom.

The Cartner Family Award for the Most Outstanding Senior Cadet for the Year went to CDT Corporal Amara Bottom.

The recipient for the Trained Soldier Award for a Junior cadet showing teamwork, courage and initiative right from enrolment (and one that was selected by the previous recipient), went to CDT  Lieutenant Corporal Reegan Traynor.

The Boucher Shield was presented to CDT Corporal Braiden Jones as the Most Senior Cadet for 2022.

The Attendance Award was earned by CDT Corporal Riley Bottom.

This year’s Navigation Award was awarded to both CDT Ashley Cousins and CDT Harry Cousins for excelling in navigation.

The Dress and Bearing Award was earned by CDT Madison Chaplain who showed an ability to always be dressed neat and tidy.

The cadet with the Highest Achievement in Drill throughout the year was CDT Riley Fitzsimmons.
