It looked like bikes outnumbered cars for this year’s Cobar RSL Sub Branch Lighthorse Charge Charity run. Some of the 76 participants are pictured above at the start of this year’s event on Saturday morning at the Cornish Rest Area. A total of $3,200 was raised on Saturday which will go towards the construction of a memorial in Drummond Park to honour locals who served in World War I. RSL Sub Branch president Ben Hewlett said to date they have raised $39,200 to build the memorial and are ready to start construction however they are still collating and checking names before they are cast into plaques.
