
The Bengal Tigers ambushed the Polar Bears winning by a big 8-1 margin in their Mids division match of the Cobar Junior Soccer Club competition on Saturday.
Six of Bengal Tigers goals were from the boots of Davey Mackay (3) and Max Preisig (3) while Tyson Cooper-Knott and Chris Florance also netted a goal each for their Tigers team.
Darcy Geppert found the back of the net to score a lone goal for Polar Bears.
In the other Mids match Black Knights recorded a 3-0 win over Redbacks.
Kade Taylor (2) and Tom Geppert were responsible for Black Knights’ points.
The Opens division game had plenty of action with Mill Rats beating Rock Apes 8-4.
Ayoush Lama kicked five of Mill Rats’ goals while Ravi Phugal was responsible for their other three.
Caleb Theakston and Isaac Theakston each netted a goal for Rock Apes.
The Seniors match was a close one with Rangers eventually beating Spurs 6-5.
Rangers’ goals were netted by Judd Josephson (3) with team mates Joseph Theakston, Jeremiah McMillan and Ryan Jiang scoring a goal each.
Mark McBride was responsible for all five of Spurs’ points.
There were a couple of high scoring games played in the Minis division.
A total of 10 goals were netted in the Sky Strikers versus Raging Rhinos game with Raging Rhinos finishing as 9-1 winners.
Zane Ntamunhanga booted in four goals, Henry Murray kicked three and Jack Joss and Callum Gibbs scored one each for Raging Rhinos.
Archie Myer-Ryan scored Sky Strikers’ only goal.
Orange Rovers won their Minis match with Pitch Pirates 6-1 with Alfie Hill responsible for three of Orange Rovers’ goals while team mates Kaiden Hamilton kicked two and Edward McBride netted the other.
Nora Palma scored Pitch Pirates’ goal.
In the Minis match between Purple Wanderers and Cornish Dragons, both sides displayed great defence with the game ending in a nil-all draw.
