For golfers, the first day of winter on Sunday felt more like an extension of Autumn with a beautiful 21 degrees and no wind at tee-off. (Ah, if only the next three months could be the same!)
It made for a pleasant day for the annual Marie McManus Memorial Day Stableford which attracted 15 players.
Barb Barklimore was declared the winner after a countback from Geraldine Francisco when both ladies finished with 35 points.
Fran Samios was next with 34 while Janet Place and Glenda Peebles both finished with 32 points each.
