Auto Club flat track event attracts a good field of 45 riders

Wayne Blenkiron (Bike No. 298) finished just ahead of Joel Parisi (167) in the
Greybeards Over 35s class on Saturday at the Cobar Auto Club. It was Parisi’s first competition ride since his accident last year and he finished a creditable third place.

The junior rider numbers were down a bit for the Cobar Auto Club’s Flat track event on Saturday afternoon however the competition was still very good.

The field of 45 riders included local rider Joel Parisi, who was having his first competition ride since his accident on a charity ride last year, along with Dennis Negfeldt who also made his comeback to racing on Saturday.

Logan Coombes was however the senior rider to catch all night.

Coombes won the Opens class ahead of Todd Negfeldt with Greg Prisk third.

Coombes also took out the Senior Lites class ahead of Prisk with Dean Norris back in third spot.

Coombes however had to settle for second place to Lawrence Fairey in the All Powers class with Fairey the frontrunner.

Todd Negfeldt finished third in this division.

Fairey also took the chequered flag in the Greybeards Over 35 Class finishing in front of  Wayne Blenkiron with Joel Parisi back in third place.

In the junior classes, George McDonald won the 50cc High Power class from Billy George second and Riley Smith was third.

Riley turned the tables to win the 65cc 7-9 years division with George McDonald second and Billy George claimed third spot.

Blake Fairey finished out in front in the 65cc 9-U12 years class and was followed by Clay McDonald (2nd) and Zach Snudden (3rd).

Blake Fairey was also the frontrunner in the 85cc 9-U12 years class with Zach Snudden finishing in second spot and Clay McDonald was back in third place.

Josh Scott claimed a win in the 85cc 12-U16 years division ahead of Molly Fairey (2nd) and Thomas Bryan (3rd).

Nicole Blenkiron won the Junior Lites and Junior Ladies classes with the Senior Ladies class taken out by Caitlin Norris with Jayde George finishing in second place.
