Aboriginal flag raised at LBV

Lilliane Brady Village staff and residents witnessed the first raising of an Aboriginal flag at the Village last week. One of residents, Kaye Saddler, had asked if the flag could be raised alongside the existing Australian flag. A flag was recently supplied by Federal Member Mark Coulton and it was raised for the first time last Tuesday by Kaye with the assistance of her granddaughter Amy Pagett, staff member Patrice Garland and Aboriginal Land Council representative Brenda Harvey. Kay and Amy commented that raising the flag was a simple way of recognising and uniting our community. ▪ Photo contributed
