A big second half saw Goal Diggers through to a win

It was a close first half between Racks and Sacks and Goal Diggers in the Mixed Indoor Soccer Competition last Wednesday night but a big second half effort by Goal Diggers saw them through to a 6-2 win.

Racks and Sacks failed to score in the first half but they played well in defence, only allowing Goal Diggers two goals, which were scored by Raymond Jones and Marc Cummins.

Goal Diggers’ Robert Good was unstoppable in the second half, netting three goals with Cummins adding an extra one.

Adam Buckman found the back of the net twice for Racks and Sacks in the second half but Goal Diggers held on for the 6-2 win.

Female Best and Fairest points went to Goal Diggers’ Kylie Scales and Racks and Sacks’ Nick Buckman collected the Male Best and Fairest points.

Two Left Feet kept their undefeated record in tact when they met MCHU last week and they finished with a narrow 5-4 win.

All of the action in the match happened in the first half of their game with Two Left Feet father/daughter duo Jade and Georgie Buckman putting points on the board, with one scored by Georgie (female goals are worth two points) and two from dad Jade.

Tadhg McMullen nicked one through for Two Left Feet to give them a total of five points going into the half time break.

MCHU had scored four points with Ben Turton netting two goals for MCHU along with team mate Shannon Purton also finding the back of the net for a single goal.

Neither side could better the score in the  second half and Two Left Feet claimed the narrow one point win.

Female Best and Fairest points went to MCHU’s Laura Andrew while Jade Buckman collected the Male Best and Fairest points.
