Off to a slow start

The Opposition got off to a slow start in their Mixed Indoor Netball game last week against Benchwarmers but finished strongly to win the game 33-28.

At the end of the first quarter it was the Benchwarmers who had their noses in front leading 5-4 however that was to be the last time they had the lead in the match.

The Opposition put their heads down in the second quarter (which was their best effort in the game) and outpointed the Benchwarmers 14 goals to five to have a handy 18-10 lead at half time. Benchwarmers however won the third quarter outpointing The Opposition 10 goals to seven to bring the margin back to 25-20 in The Opposition’s favour. The two teams then went tit-for-tat in the final quarter scoring eight goals each with The Opposition holding on for a narrow five goals win, 33-28.

Best on court for The Opposition were Zach Finn, Ella Moratti, Tony Jacklin and Bianka Jacobson with Benchwarmers well served by Sam Vaka and Loma Atuau.

The late game between the Hustlers and JNB Ball Huggers went all the Hustlers’ way.

They had a six goals lead at the first break and had extended the margin to 10 points by half time. The scoring slowed down in the third quarter but Hustlers kept the score ticking along and went on to finish the match with a 31-19 victory.

Peta Woods, Tyler Chiswick and Chris Deighton were stand-out players for Hustlers while Quinton Place, Greg Prisk and Molly Negfeldt were JNB Ball Huggers’ best.
