The Grand Hotel got behind the U.G.L.Y Bartender of the Year Leukaemia Foundation’s fundraising event last Friday night raising $3,050.

The Grand Staff Dinner Date auction proved very popular, fetching almost $1,000.

The hotel has also been running a 100 Club, raising $250 for every sheet sold which will continue until the end of November.

The money raised from U.G.L.Y Bartender fundraisers around Australia support the Leukaemia Foundations free accommodation program for regional people travelling to capital cities to receive treatment.

Every $80 which is raised provides people undergoing treatment for blood cancer with a home-away-from-home for one night in the Leukaemia Foundation’s free accommodation facilities.

The foundation’s accommodation complexes are located near major treatment centres around Australia.

The Leukaemia Foundation’s free accommodation villages are designed to provide residents with a space they can call their own during what can be a challenging and difficult period.
