New Squalleyball season is a thriller

If the new Squalleyball season continues in the same vein as it began last Thursday night, then it’s sure to be a thriller of a competition.

Keg on Legs (who have rebranded themselves from Jets last season) and What Ever played the match of the round which finished as an exciting 3-2 win for Keg on Legs.

Keg on Legs grabbed an easy 21-13 win in their first match on Thursday night at the Youthie before What Ever hit back with a
21-14 win in Game 2.

The third game was a real tussle which Keg on Legs eventually won 22-20.

A 21-14 win in Game 4 gave Keg on Legs the match win however What Ever didn’t admit defeat and continued to fight and finished with a 21-19 win in the last game.

In the other match played last week, reigning premiers Kamikaze Pilots continued their superior form into the new season with a 5-0 win over Impossibles.

The Pilots won the first two games with little effort, 21-7 and 21-8.

It wasn’t until the third game that Impossibles started to find their feet and they improved to reduce the deficit in the score in that match to just eight points, going down 13-21.

Kamikaze Pilots showed no mercy however and closed out the match with a 21-8 win in the 4th game and then triumphed 21-10 in their last game to claim the 5-0 win.

Team Baz had an easy win also after they received a forfeit from Tri Nations.

Team Baz will take on last season’s runners-up, BNB in Round 2 tomorrow night.
