Cobar juniors join seniors for a big day of footy action

Seb Best scored first points for his Cobar Roosters side in their Under 16s match against St John’s Dubbo on Saturday at Tom Knight Memorial Oval.

The Cobar Junior Rugby League players joined the Senior Rugby League teams for a big day of footy action at Tom Knight Memorial Oval on Saturday.

The Roosters Under 10s started the day off well beating St John’s Dubbo 22-16.

Hayden Seng crossed twice for Cobar; Jay Lamond, Tim Eves and Jack Rogers were each responsible for a try and conversion; and Jaxon Burke scored a try. Hayden Seng and Jack Rogers were best on ground.

St John’s Dubbo were the big winners in the other four junior games played on Saturday.

The Cobar Under 11s went down 52-16.

Two tries and one conversion came from Reece Josephson for Cobar with Lachlan Willard scoring a try, and Jed Budd kicked a goal. Oisin McMullen, Kane Robertson and Will Mudford collected the Coach’s Awards.

St John’s Dubbo won the Under 12s game 54-0 with Nick Reschke and Charlie Crotty collecting the Roosters Coaches Awards.

The visitors were also big winners in the Under 14s game, with the final margin, 50-0.

Riley Morley and Zane Taylor were the Roosters’ best on ground.

The Cobar Under 16s put first points in the board in their match against St John’s Dubbo with Seb Best racing over in the corner for a try. The visitors from then on controlled play and finished with a 50-4 win.

Dylan Boland and Brennan Pursehouse were the Roosters’ best players.

In the Mini League games played on Sunday, the Under 9s player of the match awards were presented to Jacob Chandler and Nate Pursehouse while the best Mini’s players were Judd Josephson and Ethan Jackson.
