Cobar staff make the difference as Shell named best in NSW

Cobar Auto Port’s Cathy Manns has won Shell’s Australian Service Champion of the Year award as well as an all expenses paid trip to Dubai for her great customer service efforts.

The management and staff at Cobar Auto Port Shell service station pride themselves on their outstanding customer service and their high standards have been recognised with state and national awards.

For the second year running, the Cobar service station has been named the best in the state in Shell’s global retail program, People Make the Difference Real (PMTDR).

The PMTDR program is active in 65 countries with more than 300,000 participating sites.

The performance of each site is tracked closely throughout each year with site inspections carried out by Shell office staff four times a year.

The Cobar station is also mystery shopped once a month to keep the staff on their toes.

In 2017, a new award category was introduced in Australia which recognises frontline staff, or Service Champions, who interact with customers on a daily basis.

Cathy Manns, who has been part of the Cobar Auto Port team for the past eight years, was put forward as Cobar’s Service Champion nominee with the judges awarding her the Australian Service Champion of the Year title.

As part of winning the award, Cathy, along with her recently retired manager, Annie McLaughlin (who nominated Cathy for the award) will travel (all expenses paid) to Dubai in May to attend the exclusive global Shell award and recognition event.
