Annual parade is a big hit

Cobar Business Association’s annual street parade and gala shopping night has again proved to be a big hit with local residents. The community came together for the event last Thursday with many shops keeping their doors open late and market stalls lining the main street. The parade featured hundreds of locals on foot, in vehicles, on floats and on horseback representing community groups including Cobar’s Pony Club, Baptist Church, Sheepdog Trials, Junior League, Auto Club, Fergie Tractors, Girl Guides, Netball Association, Army Cadets, Yabbies, Cobar High School, Cobar Preschool, Dust Bowl Fuel Burners, Cobar Shire Council, Copper City Dance Studio, Western Studio of Performing Arts, the Lilliane Brady Village and emergency services.
