general meeting last Tuesday at the Empire Hotel. Kate Winders was returned as vice president and delegate, Enid English as president, Lillian Simpson as treasurer and Bev Anderson as secretary and publicity officer.
Cobar VIEW Club Ladies were in full attendance at the club’s annual general meeting last Tuesday which saw the return of all 2024 office bearers to their old positions.
Enid English returns to the president’s chair, Kate Winders remains vice president and delegate, Lillian Simpson holds the financial reins as treasurer and Bev Anderson continues in the secretarial and publicity officers positions.
President Enid reported on the club’s past successful social and fundraising events, which have enabled the club to support young people experiencing disadvantage, through the Smith Family Charity’s ‘Learning for Life’ program.
Cobar VIEW currently helps three students and members enjoyed hearing feedback from these young people about their ambitions, strengths, improvements and future education goals as well as notes of appreciation from their parents and carers.
Many ideas for activities on the 2025 calendar were tossed around with everyone putting on their thinking caps for guest speakers and theme day ideas to supplement the regular calendar events.
VIEW stands for Voice, Interests and Education of Women and Cobar members extend an invitation to other women to join the group at the regular monthly lunch meetings held at the Empire Hotel.—contributed
