Despite the strong winds and forecast hot weather, there was a good field of 27 players for a Three-Man Ambrose.
Jason Foster teamed up with ‘The Beagle Boys’, Steve Manns and Greg Clark, to go on an early birdie-spree and, although they did falter a little when the storm had everyone scurrying for cover, they still ran out winners by a comfortable two shots.
Second place went to the team of new captain, John Carlaw, Peter ‘Ding’ Lawrence and Daryn Lord.
Garry Wilkin, Jarrod Marsden and Tony Polack came third.
Nearest the Pin prizes were won on all the holes for the second day in a row – the strong wind helped some and hindered others.
Alec Fraser and Mark Fraser won a hole each, Daryn Lord won a hole and, of course, Max Phillips and John Carlaw won one each.
Phillips and Carlaw both won the season’s Nearest the Pin (NTP) competition with 13 NTPs each.—Out of Bounds
