The Cobar Yabbies Senior Men’s Swimming Club held their 2016/2017 end of season presentations at the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club on Friday night.

Towards the end of the season two contenders had emerged as favourites to take out the 2016/2017 season club champion title, Murray Harland and his son Matt.

And while the swimming season officially finished a few weeks ago, it wasn’t until the club’s presentation night last Friday, that the winner was finally announced.

Murray claimed the Curly Solomon Shield as the Overall Club Championship Point Score winner having finished the season with a tally of 173 points.

Matt was second with 158.

Murray also won the 100 Metre Phil Knuckey Memorial Shield and the Brush Award for the most memorable performance on an away trip.

Matt collected the Cobar Bowling & Golf Club Shield as the 30metres champion and also the Russell Harland Memorial 50metres Champion shield.

Andrew Watts collected the Setts One Night Stand trophy after turning in the best tally over three swims on any night with 0.36 seconds off his nominated time.

Shane Josephson was named the club’s Most Improved swimmer of the season and earned the Tom Knight Memorial Shield.
