Chad Buckman now holds the 1500m run record of 4min 56.81sec for the Under 13 boys’ age division.

The previous record of 5min 0.40sec has stood since 1989 and was set by Dubbo City athlete P Stack.

Hannah Carroll broke two Zone records in her Under 14 girls’ age group.

She now holds the Javelin record with a throw of 31.49m. (The previous record, 27.40m was held by V McKnight of Wellington.)

She broke the Zone discus record with a throw of 32.79m.

The previous record (26.81m) belonged to Alyce Russell of Dubbo City and dates back to  2003.

A total of 13 of the 15 Cobar athletes who competed at the Zone Championships in Coonamble have officially qualified for the Regional Championships to be held in Dubbo in February.
