Prison escapees headed for Cobar

Police believe two prisoners who escaped from an Ivanhoe Correctional Facility may be heading towards Cobar.

Geoffrey Fieldsend (30) and Richard Reginald Pretty (29) were last seen at the minimum-security correctional centre in Ivanhoe about 6pm Saturday.

Police are appealing for the public to not approach the two men.

Following inquiries it is believed the pair may be travelling in a stolen vehicle described as a Triton twin-cab utility with NSW registration plates “AQ46QL”.

The vehicle has a black-coloured upper-half; and a silver-coloured lower-half.

The vehicle was last sighted on Trida Road, Ivanhoe.

Police have warned those who spot the pair, not to approach them, instead to contact Triple Zero (000) immediately.

Geoffrey Fieldsend is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, with a slim build, short blond hair and was last seen wearing prison greens.

Richard Pretty is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, of medium build, with short light-coloured hair, a short beard, and was also last seen wearing prison greens.
