Two Golfie ladies bowls teams competed in the annual Black Opal Tournament in Lightning Ridge on June 24 and 25.

Up against 26 teams from across the state, the Cobar side of Marlene Wynd, Glenda Peebles and Joy Josephson won the 9th place prize money.

In the women’s competition back at home on the Golfie greens last Tuesday Margaret Good, Glenda Peebles and Sandra Zazoniuk won the Consistency Badge.

Margaret Good also claimed a close 25-24 win over Glenda Peebles in a round of the Singles Championships.

It was a great game that came down to the final end to find a winner.

Good will now advance to the next round.

Two more games of the Men’s Singles Championships competition were played on Sunday.

In what was a very good game, Kyle Roberts finished at the winner over Jack Tulloh with the final score 31-28.

In the other Singles Championships match Kevin Kershaw emerged as the winner after he beat Bian Smith 31-26.
